Annual MCS Audit Passed with Distinction

On Monday of last week (28/03/11) we had our annual audit undertaken by our Micro certification scheme provider NICEIC. The comprehensive appraisal is carried out each year, as a scheme requirement, and involves the inspector carrying out a rigorous check through the companies quality management systems and document control. This is then followed by a thorough inspection of two completed installations which are also quality checked.

We were absolutely delighted when we received our report the following day, in his comments at the end of a glowing report the inspector added;

"SALOP ENERGY are a forward thinking company who deserve every success"

Huge 27kW PV System Gets Network Approval

A GREAT WEEK GETS BETTER AS HUGE 27 kW SYSTEM GETS NETWORK APPROVAL

In what must be considered a vintage week by any standards was capped on Friday, when the SALOP ENERGY team received confirmation that Central Networks had approved our application to install a huge 27 kW photovoltaic system at Millington Hospital Almshouses in Frankwell, Shrewsbury.

The project is in a conservation area and once again we thank Shropshire Council for their forward thinking in allowing the project to go ahead. We are however even more grateful to our clients at Millington Hospital for giving us this fantastic opportunity to showcase our talents on such a prestigious project.

The 2 arrays will be generating the charity an annual income of over £9,000 for the next 25 years and a staggering annual carbon reduction of over 11 tonnes of CO2. The return on investment is well over 10% so it makes sound financial sense for the not for profit organisation.

If you would like to read some further information about this project, then please view the press release.

Salop Energy install 10kW Commercial Solar Power system

Salop Energy Ltd, has recently undertaken the latest in a series of larger-scale projects, booked in for the spring. We were commissioned to carry out the installation on a farm estate in Llansillin, Powys.

The array of 42 Sharp solar modules fitted, will generate the owner nearly £4,000 per annum in feed in tariff income and electricity savings every year, for 25 years. The modules were fitted to the slate roof, of one of the farm buildings, and combined with the latest SMA Tri-Power inverter. If you want to read a little more about this project, please view the case study.

SALOP ENERGY LTD have recently added 2 new ECO vehicles to the fleet

Mindful as ever to keep to our ethos of carbon reduction both vehicles were carefully selected with C02 emissions kept to a minimum.
The first vehicle was a VW Krafter van with the brand new "Blue Eco" engine which qualifies for a subsidised road fund licence due to its lower emissions.
Director Gordon Ryan explained we needed another large capacity van to transport our solar modules to sites throughout Shropshire and beyond. The VW Krafter ticked all the boxes as we are obviously very conscious about the environment given that our day to day job is all about the reduction of carbon and delivering clean energy to our clients.

The second vehicle is a SMART car Gordon added "The smart car was an obvious choice for all in town activities"  " it just didn't make sense going to the bank or post office in a large vehicle "
